L O C A T I O N

The Mount Calvary Monastery is adjacent to and was once part of the Santa Barbara Mission property. When it was founded in 1786, this location for the Mission was chosen for a good reason - it rests at the top of the gentle slope from the ocean to the low hills of Santa Barbara, perched optimistically and peacefully over the city landscape, and also looks back reverently towards the towering mountains behind.  This location is the spiritual and civic heart of Santa Barbara, and the Mount Calvary Monastery property will forever hold this unique distinction.
